About

           Antioch

Vision

In a healthy, wholesome, positive, and friendly environment, Antioch ministers to the total person:

spiritually, socially, educationally, and economically.

Mission

We will achieve Antioch's Vision by, "lifting up the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," through evangelism, preaching, teaching, music, special events and other means as opportunities arise. In addition, we will reach out to save the lost by an effective presentation of the Gospel, as well as strengthening and encouraging the saved.

History

Antioch Baptist Church was founded on January 8, 1989. The first Worship Service was held at the Salvation Army Chapel located on Ox Road in Fairfax, Virginia. Antioch's founding Pastor, John Q. Gibbs, led a group of four others to pray for one year prior to planting this Church in Fairfax County. Joining Pastor Gibbs in planting Antioch Baptist Church was his wife (Deborah), his sister (Virginia Carter), and close friends (Bill and Kim Ryals). On that first Service on January 8, 1989 three persons came forward to be baptized: Kim Ryals, Audrey Wheeler, and Michael Johnson.

After a brief but rich ministry, Pastor John Q. Gibbs was called home to be with the Lord on May 23, 1995. We fondly remember our founding Pastor for his love of Jesus Christ, zeal for the Gospel, and his love of Antioch. Some of the milestones include the purchase of 3.6 acres of land; the construction of the facility located at 6531 Little Ox Road.

Our current Pastor, Marshal L. Ausberry, was not a stranger to Antioch. He and His family joined Antioch during 1989. He was mentored, licensed, and ordained under Pastor Gibbs' ministry. Pastor Ausberry served as interim-Pastor and was elected Pastor on September 6, 1995.<

Antioch celebrated her tenth year on January 8, 1999. Antioch is a Bible teaching and preaching ministry. Antioch has over 50 active ministries, something for everyone, to include Children & Youth, Singles, Married Ministry, among other ministries.

Antioch has been described as a very warm and loving congregation. We hope you visit soon so that you can experience the warmth and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the local Church.
